Ground operator · Moshi, Tanzania

Our vehicles. Our guides. Your Tanzania.

Mega Adventures is a family-run ground operator in Moshi, at the foot of Kilimanjaro. We own the 4×4s, employ the guides and crew, and publish the price of every accommodation tier, so what you compare is what you pay.

02 · Accommodation tiers

One itinerary. Four ways to sleep.

Every flagship safari runs the same route with the same guide. What changes is where you spend the night, and the price falls as your group grows. These are the lodges a single Tarangire night actually books at each tier.

Tents pitched at a remote camp in northern Tanzania

Camping

Our own crew pitch a walk-in tent and a professional chef cooks in camp. The kit is ours, and it is included.

Migombani Campsite

Classic

Tented lodges with private bathrooms and hot water, on the parks or a short drive from the gate.

Lake Burunge Tented Lodge

Deluxe

Larger rooms, pools and better positions, usually less driving before the morning game drive.

Maramboi Tented Lodge

Premium

The lodges people plan a whole trip around, with the views and the service to match.

04 · Motorbike adventures

The safari almost nobody else runs.

Rider on a dirt track below Kilimanjaro

We were the first company in Moshi to put guests on motorbikes in the remote parts of Tanzania. Honda XR 400s and CRF 250s, a 4×4 carrying the luggage and the camping kit, and a travelling mechanic who checks every bike at the end of each leg.

Bikes are not permitted inside the national parks, so the routes run through wildlife management areas and Maasai land instead: West Kilimanjaro, the Usambara Mountains, Lake Natron, and down to the Indian Ocean.

05 · Where you’ll go

Parks worth the drive.

The Northern Circuit is what most first trips are built from. The Southern and Western parks (Nyerere, Ruaha, Katavi, Mahale) are quieter, wilder and worth the extra days if you have them.

06 · Your guides

The person reviewers ask for by name.

Our guides are permanent staff, not freelancers hired per trip, and the same guide stays with you from the airport to the last drive. They are handpicked and trained every year on themed field trips.

08 · In their words

Ten days, one guide.

We spent ten days with Yasin in the Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater. Yasin, our guide, was always optimally prepared and also discovered the animals that were well hidden. He kept the necessary distance and always showed consideration for the animals. We felt safe and in good hands. Thanks to Yasin we experienced a unique safari tour that we will never forget.

09 · Add to your trip

A day out, and a beach at the end.

Day trips from Moshi

Materuni waterfall and its coffee farms, the Kikuletwa hot springs, Lake Chala, a day in Arusha National Park, good for the day you land or the day before you fly.

Zanzibar, after the dust

Add Zanzibar to any safari or climb for a fixed $590 per person: flights from Kilimanjaro, one night in Stone Town, four on the east coast, and every transfer in between.
